Dominant Aspects
If humans were computers, our dominant traits would be the operating system that is embedded and hard-coded in our minds. These deeply ingrained behaviors run on autopilot, driving our every action without conscious thought. Like breathing or blinking, we can actively choose to control our actions with enough concentration. However, most of the time, our recurring behaviors seem to be driven by our subconscious, functioning effortlessly and instinctively.
Instinct is a marvelous thing. It can
neither be explained nor ignored.

Dominant traits are often mistaken as strengths in most other personality systems. But here in Personality Ninja, we hold a different view. To us, traits are just traits, shaped by the wiring of our cognitive functions. Whether a trait is good or bad largely depends on the way it is used. As such, these traits can either be the source of one's greatest strengths, or the cause of their biggest downfall.
Naturally, we will hone our dominant traits, refining them into our super strengths. However, if we are not careful, there is a chance that we may push our dominant traits into overdrive, manifesting them in very unhealthy ways. In the end, our dominant traits are our natural tendencies and nothing more. The key to harnessing them effectively lies in knowing when, where, and how to use them.
While others try to avoid the waves, Artists learn to surf. Born with many talents, Artists can navigate themselves out of any situation. Whether it be weaving through crises or improvising a speech, they can easily adjust themselves and adapt to it in no time. Even when the odds are against them, Artists somehow make it through, as they can always make the most out of what they have, anytime, anywhere.
Though Artists are the aces of adapting, they often fail when it comes to planning. Being spontaneous by nature, Artists prefer to go with the flow rather than follow a schedule. This causes them to make careless mistakes, many of which could've been avoided if they had a plan. If Artists continue down this path, they might eventually slip up big time, making serious mistakes that can never be undone.
At their worst, Artists might bring a whole new meaning to the word "reckless". Constantly taking things to extremes, they tend to make rash decisions wildly and impulsively. They may think that everything feels fine at the moment, but they don't realize that the consequences are simply piling up. If Artists continue to abuse their freedom, they may eventually trap themselves in a cage of their own negligence.
While others see difficulty, Artists see opportunities. Knowing that life is too short for regrets, they are always ready to dive right into action, taking on challenges without hesitation. They couldn't care less about the outcome, as they know that failure is simply another chance for new experiences. Never holding themselves back, these bold risk-takers are not afraid to give up the good to go for the great.
Although Artists are usually eager and enthusiastic, they are known to get cold feet when it is time to commit. Always seeking for more, they find it hard to stick to one thing in life. They believe that dedicating themselves to a path will indirectly close off the others. As such, they tend to be absent-minded with their projects, hopping aimlessly from one to another. Little do they know, their desire for everything may eventually lead them to nothing.
There's a fine line between greed and passion, but Artists usually can't tell the difference. With so many opportunities right before their eyes, they can't help but seize them all! Yet it is also because of this that they tend to bite off more than they can chew, giving little thought to the risks that come with it. Before they know it, the consequences might finally take its toll, and they may end up losing everything instead.
To Artists, beauty is all in the details. From the rhythmic sounds of rain to the fine flavors in a dish, Artists just seem to notice them all. Being highly in tune with their senses, they are able to recognize even the most subtle of nuances, discerning the differences between seemingly identical facts. This allows them to make better judgments as their keen observations help them know what's best.
While Artists can discern facts well, they may not have that same sensitivity when connecting them together. Having a tendency to only take things at face value, they often lack the intuition to recognize the underlying meanings of what they know. This might lead them to look for more knowledge without realizing that the answer is right in front of them. If Artists dismiss the patterns around them, they could miss out on many insightful values that could potentially change their lives.
When Artists are too focused on the details, they tend to forget what they were looking for in the first place. They often get distracted by all sorts of new facts, mindlessly straying off from their initial goal. While it's great that they have a range of material, it's almost always irrelevant to the task at hand. Without being aware, Artists may just be hunting for facts without a purpose, completely losing sight of the big picture.
Life is a never-ending adventure that Artists can't stop exploring. With a thirst for excitement, they're always open to new experiences, taking on every opportunity that the world has to offer. Their passion knows no bounds, as they aim to explore everything there is to learn in this world. Striving to live life to the fullest, Artists never stop searching for life's most thrilling and exciting sensations.
However, Artists may lose their passion as quickly as it was gained. Always craving for newer experiences, they tend to change interests without much direction, dropping a subject as soon as they are bored of it. This prevents them from ever gaining a deep understanding in anything, as they tend to jump from one topic to another before they have even scratched the surface. As a result, Artists may have a wide range of experiences that often lack depth.
At their worst, Artists might spend their entire lives chasing superficial experiences with no significant purpose behind them. Although they are constantly testing out all sorts of ventures, they rarely see the deep and profound meaning that lies within them. This causes them to have a variety of random facts that bring no impact to their lives. Without a focused goal, Artists might never get to channel their curiosity into something that's truly worthwhile.
To wrap it up, dominant traits are neither our strengths nor are they our weaknesses. They are simply traits we tend to exhibit naturally in our daily lives without much realization.
The biggest reminder here is this: a trait is a trait. It is a unique characteristic of an archetype, each carrying its own pros and cons. With that understanding, let us now venture into the next set of traits that we do more consciously—our supportive traits.
