Summary

With all that has been said so far, let us sum up the main ideas of this section. In essence, an archetype’s Origin highlights the key aspects of their personality, namely Type Outlook, Tactic, Nature, and Instinct.

Type Outlook refers to the way an Archetype sees the world, either factually for Sensors or conceptually for Intuitives. Type Tactic, on the other hand, refers to the way an archetype makes decisions, either using logical reasons for Thinkers or emotional justifications for Feelers. Through a combination of both Type Outlook and Tactic, an archetype will then uncover their Type Nature, making them either part of the Earth (ST), Water (SF), Fire (NT), or Air (NF) Village.

However, ninjas who hail from the same village may not be identical as they are further differentiated by their Type Instinct: Experiences (SE), Possibilities (NE), Familiarity (SI), Insight (NI), Effectiveness (TE), Solidarity (FE), Accuracy (TI), or Authenticity (FI). Type Instincts expand on an archetype’s Outlook and Tactic, providing a clearer description of their needs and motivations.

It is worth mentioning that archetypes of the same Origin will not necessarily think or do the same things. On the contrary, it is actually far more common for them to express diverse opinions and beliefs. The reason behind this often lies in various factors.

It might be due to a difference in upbringing, heritage, society, or it may very well just be a difference in consciousness! But no matter how different they may seem at a glance, one only has to look beneath the surface to discover that those who share the same Origin will normally reach a conclusion through similar patterns of thought.

And of course, everyone can do everything. In the context of Type Outlook, Sensors can tap into their intuition from time to time while Intuitives can notice sensory details if they try to. The same goes for Type Tactic, Nature, and Instinct. But no matter how much one may try to harness these other aspects of themselves, in the end, their behavior will still largely reflect the structure of their Origin.

This marks the end of the Origin section, which covers a huge chunk of the NXT personality framework. With its basic building blocks spelt out, we can now put them together to uncover deeper insights in typology through the Rhythm of an archetype.
