Evolver

Evolver belongs to one of the two Type Strategies in the NXT personality framework. If you are new or unfamiliar with this topic, do refer to the Introduction of Type Strategy for more information.

Overview

Evolving Functions are Introverted Judging Cognitive Functions, used to cultivate personal significance by evaluating one's own personal views.

These Cognitive Functions are introverted as they involve forming relatively subjective decisions that prioritize the most compelling opinions based on one's own personal judgments.

As such, Evolvers tend to focus on themselves, most noticeably by prioritizing their own growth and personal identity, all of which contribute to a life with personal significance.

Brief technical description: Evolvers desire to cultivate personal significance by prioritizing one's own personal views.

Evolvers will have an Evolving Function as either their Dominant Function or Supportive Function. Evolving Functions consist of Introverted Thinking (TI) and Introverted Feeling (FI).

To provide greater clarity and understanding of the descriptions above, below are the key definitions for the specific terms used.

Key Definitions

Definition of Evolver:
A person who prioritizes Evolving to fulfill their desire for significance.

Note: Evolution is a common term for gradual genetic progress, but a NXT Evolver refers instead to a person who consistently prioritizes their own personal development over the group.

Definition of Evolving:
Prioritizing the needs of oneself by focusing primarily on personal development.

Note: Evolving includes, but is not limited to: checking for personal opinions, upholding principles or beliefs, and striving to develop one's own identity.

Definition of Introverted:
Referring to a psychological orientation that is centered around the subjective viewpoint of one's inner world.

Note: Introverted is an original term by Carl Jung. Introverted in this context is not to be confused with the typical understanding of an introvert, such as being quiet, reserved, or someone who shies away from the spotlight.

Definition of Subjective:
Based on the personal interpretation of matters.

Note: A personal interpretation is not equivalent to an inaccurate or worse interpretation, but merely one that is more attached to the individual.

Definition of Significance:
People's self-worth, usually gauged through one's competence, performance, achievements, integrity, or legacy from the individual's perspective.

Note: Most people will want to feel special or unique at some point in their lifetime. However, Evolvers have a relatively greater and constant desire to gain a sense of significance.

Derivative Traits

As mentioned above, Evolvers focus on making subjective decisions by evaluating the world internally with personal opinions. As such, various characteristics can be expanded upon this core trait to understand it better.

To illustrate an experiential depiction of an Evolver, here are some possible derivative traits that are commonly reported from individuals of this Type Strategy.

  1. Strives to meet personal standards in order to validate oneself.
  2. Prioritizes their own personal decisions, even if it means going against the group's opinions.
  3. Desires individuality, and as such, dislikes individuals who push them to conform to the group.
  4. Turns inward to gain a deeper understanding of their thoughts or feelings when faced with difficulties.
  5. Shares stories that are centered on oneself as they feel uncomfortable talking about others.
Note: As these are some possible derivative traits, a person of this Type Strategy will either display some or most of the attributes above, with differing frequency and intensity.

Thematic Details

Within the fictional world of Mochiverse, the primary Personality Class of an archetype is represented by the ninja's headgear. In particular, Evolvers have a headgear with two pointy ears coming out at the top.

The reason for this design choice is to hint at the independent nature of a cat, signifying an Evolver's desire to thrive as an individual of their own. As such, it captures the primal desire of Evolvers who seek a sense of significance.
