SE Experiences

SE Experiences belongs to one of the eight Type Instincts in the NXT personality framework. If you are new or unfamiliar with the topic, do refer to the Introduction of Type Instinct for more information.

Overview

Concrete Experiences, or Experiences for short, is the Type Instinct for archetypes who have Extraverted Sensing (SE) as their Dominant Cognitive Function.

Extraverted Sensing is an Extraverted Explicit Perceiving Cognitive Function, used to discover a variety of unknown things in the world by discerning the most extensive and tangible facts through varied and new concrete realities.

This Cognitive Function is relatively objective and denotative as it prioritizes the most intriguing facts identified through a diverse range of perceptions in order to acquire concrete experiences.

As such, Extraverted Sensors tend to focus on exploring new facts, most noticeably by finding various details and opportunities in reality, all of which promote concrete experiences.

Brief technical description: Extraverted Sensing seeks for the most extensive and tangible facts by prioritizing concrete experiences.

To provide greater clarity and understanding of the descriptions above, below are the key definitions for the specific terms used.

Key Definitions

Definition of Experiences:
The instances of direct practical involvement that often leave a sensuous impression.

Note: Although everyone may go through interesting experiences at some point in their lifetimes, Experiences for a NXT Extraverted Sensor is specifically tied to their instinct to seek for sensory input.

Definition of Extraverted:
Referring to a psychological orientation that is centered around the objective viewpoint of one's outer world.

Note: Extraverted is a term originally coined by Carl Jung. Extraverted in this context is not to be confused with the typical understanding of an extravert, such as being outgoing, loud, or someone who occupies the spotlight.

Definition of Sensing:
Processing concrete realities by focusing primarily on details and data that are factual.

Note: Sensing includes, but is not limited to: noticing tangible details, providing factual data, and tracking physical experiences.

Definition of Exploring:
Prioritizing what is new by focusing primarily on discovering a broader range of information.

Note: Exploring includes, but is not limited to: trying different approaches, acquiring new knowledge, and seizing interesting opportunities.

Definition of Objective:
Based on the non-personal interpretation of matters.

Note: An impersonal interpretation is not equivalent to an accurate or better interpretation, but merely one that is more detached from the individual.

Definition of Concrete:
Actual and tangible, existing only in physical reality.

Note: Apart from physical entities that are evidently concrete, data and statistics are also considered to be concrete, as they refer to tangible facts that have been collected and recorded.

Definition of Unfamiliar:
Outside of an individual's usual experiences or awareness.

Note: Unfamiliar relates to the desire for variety as it introduces something that is new, creating a sense of curiosity.

Definition of Denotative:
Describing the literal description or representation of something rather than the implied meaning or representation.

Note: For example, the word "cold" would literally mean something absent of heat, instead of the implied meaning of someone being emotionless.

Definition of Fact:
Things that are proven to be true in reality, usually without any attached meaning to it.

Note: People tend to use common phrases such as "it's a fact" or "the fact is". However, it does not necessarily mean that they are providing a fact, but merely implying that they are certain of something.

Derivative Traits

As mentioned above, Extraverted Sensors are individuals who focus on making objective observations that are concrete by examining the world externally for unfamiliar knowledge consisting of denotative facts. As such, various characteristics can be expanded upon this core trait to understand it better.

To illustrate an experiential depiction of an individual who seeks Concrete Experiences, here are some possible derivative traits that are commonly reported from individuals of this Type Instinct.

  1. Observes by taking in the physical senses within the present moment with great attention to detail.
  2. Thrives in dynamic situations that require improvising to one's surrounding on the go.
  3. Pursues concrete experiences while disregarding the deeper meaning or purpose behind it.
  4. Provides a diverse range of factual instances in a random and digressive manner.
  5. Achieves success by seizing new opportunities, resulting in better experiences in life.
Note: As these are some possible derivative traits, a person of this Type Instinct will either display some or most of the attributes above, with differing frequency and intensity.

Thematic Details

Within the fictional world of Mochiverse, the Type Instinct of an archetype is represented by the ninja's clan. In particular, individuals who seek for Experiences are represented by the Falcon Clan.

The reason for this animal choice is because Falcons symbolize unparalleled speed, versatility, and adaptability, qualities that reflect in individuals with Extraverted Sensing. Hence, Falcon Ninjas find no trouble in adapting to any environment, granting them the ability to handle critical situations effortlessly.

To be specific, the Falcon Clan is made up of two subclans, namely the Steel and Storm Falcon Clan. Those who belong to the Steel Falcon Clan have a Thinking Function as their Supportive Function. On the other hand, those who belong to the Storm Falcon Clan have a Feeling Function as their Supportive Function.

Due to the different Supporting Functions, both subclans vary slightly in terms of their Type Tactics. Ninjas hailing from the Steel Falcon Clan are resourceful explorers who seek to understand the way things work. Likewise, ninjas hailing from the Storm Falcon Clan are fun-loving explorers who yearn to enjoy the vast open world.
