Introduction
Type Instinct is the subsequent topic to Type Perspective, Type Strategy, Type Outlook, and Type Tactic. If you are new to these topics, do refer to their introductions to gain a more comprehensive understanding of Type Instinct.
Overview
As mentioned previously in the introduction of NXT Class and NXT Origin, humans can be categorized into four Personality Classes based on the four primal human desires, which are further specified based on the Class Methods.
This section, Type Instinct, will delve into how an individual's Personality Class and preferred Class Method combine to shape their instinctive behavior. As people prioritize the primal human desires and Class Methods differently, each individual will have a unique pairing of these two aspects. This preference determines their Type Instincts.
There are a total of four Personality Classes, that can each be further specified based on two separate Class Methods. This gives rise to the classification of eight Type Instincts, with each individual possessing a primary Type Instinct.

Mechanism
For those who are new to Jungian typology, a Cognitive Function is a specific psychological pattern that utilizes varying cognitive processes to achieve a desired purpose. There are a total of eight Cognitive Functions, each prioritized differently among different individuals.
Under Type Instinct, the Personality Classes and Class Methods also combine to form the eight Cognitive Functions as described above. Depending on which function is most prioritized, it will form the individual's Dominant Function.
For example, the Specialist archetype who is a Sensor with a Builder Class, has Introverted Sensing as its Dominant Function. As such, its Type Instinct is Concrete Familiarity.
Similarly, the Advocate archetype who is a Feeler with a Leader Class, has Extraverted Feeling as its Dominant Function. As such, its Type Instinct is Emotional Solidarity.
As a core aspect of the NXT personality framework, the Cognitive Functions can be broken down and categorized into many different aspects. The Type Instincts are merely to capture the general essence of each Cognitive Function.
