THE OFFICIAL NXT DEFINITIONS

Reflector

Reflector belongs to one of the four Type Drives in the NXT personality framework. If you are new or unfamiliar with the topic, do refer to the Introduction of Type Drive for more information.

Overview

Reflecting Function Pairs are Introverted Perceiving and Introverted Judging Cognitive Functions, operating together to make subjective observations and subjective decisions by examining internally for familiar knowledge and evaluating internally with personal opinions.

To put it briefly, the act of Reflecting involves refining known information for themselves.

Reflectors have a Building Function and Evolving Function among their Dominant and Supportive Function. This means that either Introverted Sensing (SI) or Introverted Intuition (NI) will be paired with either Introverted Thinking (TI) or Introverted Feeling (FI).

To provide greater clarity and understanding of the descriptions above, below are the key definitions for the specific terms used.

Key Definitions

Definition of Reflector:
A person who prioritizes Reflecting to fulfill their desire for certainty and significance.

Note: Reflection is typically the process of going over one's experience to seek improvement, but a NXT Reflector refers instead to someone who often refines known information for oneself.

Definition of Reflecting:
To act in a way that prioritizes oneself while focusing on what's known.

Note: Reflecting includes, but is not limited to: pondering personal choices, sorting internal thoughts, and organizing one's own life.

Definition of Subjective:
Based on the personal interpretation of matters.

Note: A personal interpretation is not equivalent to an inaccurate or worse interpretation, but merely one that is more attached to the individual.

Definition of Familiar:
Within an individual's usual experiences or awareness.

Note: Familiar relates to the desire for certainty as it repeats something that is known, creating a sense of security.

Thematic Details

Within the fictional world of Mochiverse, the Type Drive of an archetype is represented by the ninja's clothing. In particular, Reflectors are designed to wear a loosely fitted poncho.

Example of ninjas who are Reflectors.

The reason for this design choice is to symbolize the mysterious and reserved nature of Reflectors. The poncho carries elements of comfort and contemplation, ideal for the Reflector's introspective way of life.
